............and if you think this road looks narrow, then you are right, it is a single lane track for most of the way with passing points. The road is from Ambleside and goes over the mountains joining the Kirkstone Pass which I will post a picture of tomorrow.

I really like this vantage point...it takes my eyes beyond the present and really gaze out and wonder where I'd be if I turned that corner. Great shot, it's a beauty :)

If you can spot the little white house in the distance that is where the road takes you to. It is a T-junction and then we turn left through Kirkstone Pass.

Now if that were here, they'd just widen the road and have done with it!! I'm so glad you all try to keep the flavor of your country alive :)

This is very pretty! I love the greens and blues you've caught in the image. Also, the road and the stone walls lead the eye into the distance very nicely. I'm not sure if I'm a fan of the border, but the photograph itself is lovely!

They must put up those stone walls to keep YOU from running over their livestock. LOL Great post Patti. :)

I can't believe the narrowness of some of your roads. Have you ever been over here? No comparison. Beautiful scenery.

Patti, the cars in the UK are driving at the left side of the road. Foreigners are not only used to it but it's made extra confusing as there is no left side here, and the stone walls make any escape impossible. Can you imagine, that driving there would make me crazy? So I'll put on my (new)wandering allowing me to enyoy the beautiful landscape better. Time enough! Regards, Cornelius

I know this road. And when I drove along it, it was raining so hard that I could barely see a thing! So *that* is what it looks like in good weather. Lol! I don't recommend it in bad weather, but this shot shows it in its full beauty. I love those old, irregular drystone walls (first time I've seen them...). A very good shot.
