.........and you will more than likely find a pub by this name in nearly every village and town in the UK! We give directions by pubs you know! lol! This is one of the little pubs in Hawkshead in Cumbria, the village I stayed in while I was visiting the Lake District - every street was similar to this one. The Inn I stayed in was 17th century! now.........drinks are on..........Bob! ;)

Patti, this image has brought already the cosy atmosphere, but a cosy atmosphere is not sufficient enough for a dry throath. So thanks for offering me a drink in this wonderful pub (paid by Bob, of course). It's depending on Bob's financial situation whether we'll stay here all night long or not (lol). Regards, Cornelius

Ah, English country life in its finest tradition. Save me a bar-stool, I'm on my way. Mine's a pint and some of those little pork scratchings, please Bob! Something to nibble on whilst enjoying a very fine photo... :)

...cheers Bob! ....and yes we are big on 'Lion' pubs John - the White Lion, the Red Lion and the Golden Lion - named after yours truly! vous! lol! - one of those in most towns also! :) ...and probably the most used name is 'the Wagon and Horses' pubs which you will find on nearly every stretch of the A34 Road from one end of the country to the other finishing in London - dates back to..... of course the time people took a wagon and horse down to the capital.
