......accentuated with a touch of HDR! ...all the elements were there to work on - the sun on the hills and the dramatic sky! How I would love to stand on top of that hill - next time I visit Ullswater I will make a point of climbing a hill - the lake is surrounded by the most beautiful landscape - what other invitation do you need. :)

Again the clouds are overdone in HDR, that is my main reason not to use it.
It shows so clearly that it is edited. But, have a look on the slope of the hill, that light is awesome, just like a dream, so i do forgive you for using HDR again ! :-)
You could try to enhance colors in any photo editor, and you will absolutly get the same result, but then without the overdone sky, who knows ? just give it a go Patti, you might like it. For as it is, if you do not know the limitations of HDR, it is still a great shot, that is true !

Really spectacular. It's amazing what you are able to do with such a simple scene. It's all about the lighting/exposure, and of course the HDR really enhances what is already there.

Fantasic landscape!
But the Splash of HDR is too much for my liking.
I know from experience that when you work with HDR it is hard and difficult not to exaggerate. Therefore I always create two layers in a photo editor: one layer with the unaltered original and the other layer containing the HDR image. Then I use the transparancy slider to mix the two images and find an improved but acceptable image final. Maybe a tip for your next project?

Why haven't I commented on this before?! Love it. I think the HDR is just right, but it's a matter of personal taste. I just love the way your trees are so 3d and bright and the tapestry of fields and sunlight on the side of the mountain.
