........the weather was very overcast and dull today, so I took myself off to Salford Quays and visited an exhibition of photographs by Artist and Photographer Harold Riley at The Lowry theatre and galleries, and then the Imperial War Museum. This photograph was taken from the viewing platform at the top of the museum looking back over Salford Quays - The Lowry is the building in the centre of the picture and you can see the front of the theatre here and here. ...when the weather improves, I will return and take another shot of this view which was amazing even in the misty dull weather.

A gray, threatening, but still good looking sky did you catch here. I am happy, that war is a part of history here and I hope you will have the same situation soon. Good capture.

Beautiful composition. You could make a post card for the tourists with this shot. The reflections in the water are excellent. I am looking forward to your follow-up shot when the skies are more cooperative.

A fine tour you gave me access to. I liked it and your photo as well. Looks like an island of information. I like the reflections, both on the water and in the museum where people remember. Very good post.

I agree with you it's an amazing angle. It's so satisfying when you find a vantage point like this that lets you get the whole scene in. Almost looks a bit Toy Town this. I'll be Noddy if you'll be Big Ears ;-)

You certainly picked up the challenge of making Salford look pretty, no mean feat that.

Patti, I prefer to capture images as well with a nice blue sky and wonderful clouds, but we have to take the weather as it is. Altough the sky is grey, your image, however, is (again) a wonderful one. Thanks. Regards, Cornelius

That's quite a panorama you have managed to conjure up here, even in spite of the bad weather. It reminds me more than a little of the Docklands area of London - same designers, perhaps?
