.....today I stopped off at the village of Bakewell in Derbyshire - they make yummy cakes there (Bakewell tarts) ...no comments about that please!!! LOL! It is quite a busy little place, so I strolled along the riverside and photographed the old bridge and the wildlife... I didn't notice the old couple looking over until I returned home, but I think it adds quite a nice touch to the photograph!

I bet that is a a daily chore for the elderly couple. They come and feed the birds bread and stuff. Talk about the day and what the kids and grand kids are up to. You captured such a peaceful and tranquil moment both in your life and theirs.

The colours just leap out of the screen from this one - it's an explosion! The lighting is just wonderful. My favourite is the bridge - such an unusual shape and the sun on the stones is lovely. I agree the couple add something - any more people and it wouldn't work, but the way these two are so obviously together in the moment is very good.

Mmm - yummy. Raspberry jam, almonds - delicious :)Perhaps that is Mr & Mrs Jackson from the Bakewell tart shop!
A super picture, oozing tranquility, I love it.

If you think those kids on the bridge are old, I wouldn't want you to see me. JJ They do add to shot. Ducks, geese seem to be enjoying themselved. Fall colors are still looking good. It looks like you just happened upon an everyday scene and captured it in time forever, making it immortal. Excellent colors and clarity, Patti.

It's amazing Patti, the only one who's talking about Bakewell tarts is Lyn (giving the ingredients for the recipe), so I don't have the 'courage' to tease you on that subject, lol. The trees have a golden glow. Thinks it's caused by a low sun against a dark (clouded) background. Anyhow a beautiful image! Regards, Cornelius

Very atmospheric picture, I like the splendid autumn colours, you have made the bast of them. Next time don't forget to push the couple over the bridge before ;-). Jokes aside, I agree that the two make the image nicer to look at, they balance the composition somehow.

Good shot Patti - some dramatic lighting in this view. My nephew used to work in the Bakewell Pudding shop - honest! - so I can confirm the wonderful quality of the pastries on sale there.
