.....and now I know why Rome is reknowned for it's romanticism! - amazing and beautiful architecture, ancient historical monuments, steeped in history and the whole place is alive!! ...only one problem!!!! too many Italians!!!! LOL! just kidding! This photograph was taken in the evening as the light was fading and everywhere was aglow - photograph straight from camera apart from slight sharpening! In the distance you can see St Peter's dome (the largest church in the World) and of course it is next to the Vatican).

So, little traffic! It that your car on the road? The picture is stunning and it never hurts to have one of the treasures of earth posing for you. I hope you were able to get a lot of shots within the Vatican City. Do they allow cameras in there? Looking forward to walking Rome with you as you post these wonderful pictures.

Such a beautiful ambience about this Patti. The colors are almost mystical just like the city. Breathtaking capture!

Wow, romantic it really is. The colour of the inside of sea-shells and a tremendous fresh early-morning feel. Even though it was early evening.

My very favourite bit is the glow in the windows under the dome. Is it a Canaletto... or is it a Titian? Ah no, how could I have mistaken it? This could only be a Fogz.

Dusk falling on this city is one of the most romantic sights that I've ever seen...I love the contrasts of gray and warm, and of course the splendid architecture. This is wonderful Patti. + faves

Patti, I'm truly enjoying this series and putting all into faves. I was too young to realize I needed a camera to preserve the memories when I was in Rome years ago. You are doing that for me now. Thanks so much.

What an extraordinary shot. The colours look so mystically eastern that at first casual glance I got the impression it was the Taj Mahal (I must ease off the cider). Great shot, supremely atmospheric.

Patti,I really don't understand this low score (51).
Let me at least assure you that this is one of the best shots I have seen for a while!
And now I know where I will go to next year in october! (that's the time I drop my kids at grandmas and make a city trip with my wife).
Thank you, this is just beautiful!

I think someone is vacationing this month! Your gallery is full of shots of Rome. The wife and I just got back from 10 days in Prague, but we had grey rainy weather the whole time - fine for sightseeing, but terrible for photography. I tried, but there are simply no shadows right now in the city. It appears that you fared a bit better.
