........one of the many beautiful facades surrounding the courtyard of the Vatican in Rome, this has to be the most impressive with the inscription of Pope Pius VII.

Oh I'm so late commenting on this - I did try this morning but it wasn't there! This reminds me of a postcard - or a postage stamp. It's funny how that aesthetic, the straight columns in front of a facade, the stone steps, the ochre wall behind and the statues, seems so authoritative and - well, just right. A lovely shot. The textures in the paint on the wall are my favourite.
Did you get a new camera, Patti? I'm still struggling along with my XTi "stuff". If it really makes this much of a difference, I guess I'm going to have to go break the piggy bank.
"I never looked for it, gave it no name; yet I knew it always, when the gift of peace came. I stood quite still for the moment that it lasted...Then the light shifted slightly and the moment passed, leaving me...with the lasting echo of its presence.." Diana Gabaldon
My dear friends! I hope you forgive me for not commenting and answering that much recently. Thats because of the weather situation here, that takes all my energy. I promise to do better as soon as there will be more sun again. Smile
Now jump the fence and let's have a look inside shall we?!?!
