.....one of the many beautiful galleries inside the Vatican - this is the Gallery of Maps - the ceiling is frescoed with topographical maps of Italian regions, which were painted in the late 16th century. I hope I have captured the atmosphere in this one - everyone seemed to be in awe at the splendour of the beautiful paintings.

You have a lot going on in this photo. The walls, floor, and ceiling form four triangular sectors giving your photo great depth. The black frame with the area on the left gives the wallpaper people someplace to put their icons. And, the black and orangey-gold colors work together very well. It also never fails to have a few masterpieces decorating a photo, as well ;)

Someone stepped on me while I was taking photo there years ago. Crushed my Brownie and left pinky. This was awesome as I remember and you have captured it perfectly. I'm sure enjoying the tour Patti.

Ah yes, I remember the hall a maps. It was a amazing place. I too have the photo. It looks like you caught it at a good time. I was there in the middle of the summer and there was much more of a crowd, you could barely breath.

Ciao Bella!! This looks like a big, richly decorated tube waiting to flip round and scoop up the people. What a brilliant perspective. You made a totally original shot out of something that could be such a tourist snap. I love photos of people taking photos too. Bet his one turned out rubbish.

My dear friends! I hope you forgive me for not commenting and answering that much recently. Thats because of the weather situation here, that takes all my energy. I promise to do better as soon as there will be more sun again. Smile
