.....the view from the top of St Peter's Basilica ....I was determined to capture this famous view - only 520 steps to the top!!! (I cheated and jumped in an escalator to take me up the first 200 lol!)...but it was worth it!! - the views are amazing. The title is the famous quote "Rome - a lifetime is not enough"!

Why do they call it St. Peter's Square when it's round? Maybe I'm in wrong country. Maybe I'm confused. Just a perfect shot. I don't think they had escalator back when. You're making my trip all come back to me. Thanks Patti.

Another one of those shots that from anyone else would look like a tourist snapshot but from you looks like a work of art. Fabulous use of colour in the composition methinks.

A spectacular view Patti. It's captured in clear details and beautiful lighting. Quite impressive. The stairs you spoke of remind me of a set of 555 stairs ascending the Abraham Cliffs in Quebec City. We did them all when I was a child! I don't think I could repeat that feat now! LOL

RE: Your reply, Patti...

"Roma non basta una vita" is an amazing photograph. There are so many shots submitted to Caedes that are just more of the same (my own shots included); same landscapes, same foofy flowers, same out-of-focus bugs and critters... well, except for Paul Gerritsen's recent "Lion" (have you seen that amazing shot?). In the world of motion pictures certain films stand out from the rest, because of their quality, outstanding plot and story line, and impact upon the viewer. To me, those are epics. Your photograph from the roof of the most famous religious structure on earth is epic, something neither I nor 99.99% of the people on this planet would ever see. I didn't even know the public could go up there (unless they had fake wings attached to their back with old coat hangers). Anyway, in the collection of photographs available on Caedes, "Roma non basta una vita" is "Schindler's List," or "Gone With the Wind," or "Lawrence of Arabia."
