........one of the many stunning and beautiful painting adorning the walls of the Vatican Museums. This painting was above the door as I entered the museum's Gallery of the Candelabra ...I stopped the crowd and stood firmly until I got the shot! lol! If anyone has ever been to the Vatican they will know that it is like being in a sea of people moving from gallery to gallery, so you have to stand your ground if you want to take a photo! :)

I don't think the crowds were that bad back when. I do remember this very vividly. It was overwhelming looking at one masterpiece after another. I didn't have a camera as I told you earlier. Therefore, I'll thank you again for these photos.

I agree with you Patti, you have to be, to a certain extend, impudent or to use a trick in order to make (a good) capture of the paintings there. It's really a tough job, but you did it perfect (I'm curious how you've succeeded in stopping the crowd). The result is anyhow a wonderful image! Regards, Cornelius

I can just imagine you in the middle of your crowd exercising your elbows. No wonder no-one disturbed you! The beauty of this is that it looks like it's actually happening. I love the way you've composed it and the colour rendition. The painting looks almost 3D - the knight looks as though he's standing outside the picture on the ledge. And the poise of her hand as she's dropping the necklace is sublime. Gorgeous Fogz, a fave if ever I clapped eyes on one.
