......it is easy to adopt the culture ...everywhere you see the amazing architecture and sculptures and everywhere you find people relaxing, enjoying their surroundings and it has an air about it like no other city! ....I really felt the need to photograph this scene of a young man reading at the foot of this amazing sculpture - it captures the very essense of what this city is all about! . - see the link in my last message below to discover more about the history of this fountain which was designed by Michaelangelo in 1536.

Nicely Done Patti. The guy at the bottom gives a good perspective as to how large the sculpture really is. Again, Thanks for Sharing.

Don't know if I should jump in this BIG discussion or not. Larry is a riot. (lol) I don't remember this one either. That must have been the day I went (Oh never mind) This really is a good photo and I agree the man reading gives perspective. Looks like you had a good day. How many memory cards did you take? I'm enjoying the tour Patti.

Looks like I need to educate you class! I will be back with more information about this statue and fountain which you will see to the left side, hence the fish!

ps Jerry - you can sit at the back of the class and write 100 times - "I must learn to appreciate art in its true form and get my mind out of the gutter!" LOL!

Must admit when I first looked at this it made me feel a bit inadequate. LOL to Jerry et al - I suppose if this is Neptune the shape would be logical though.

Lovely shot Patti - I really like that you got the guy reading in it. I'm sure he'd be flattered to know he's been immortalised by the Gilded Shutter. Even if it is at the feet of, ahem, Neptune's Trident.

It's HUGE! (ehem, the statue I mean) I love that you included the guy reading down there, it really adds a sense of perspective along with the portrayal of the relaxed atmosphere. Oh how I would love to roam around Rome! (but that sure doesn't look like any fish I've ever seen, lol!) Fantastic Post Patti!

My dear friends! I hope you forgive me for not commenting and answering that much recently. Thats because of the weather situation here, that takes all my energy. I promise to do better as soon as there will be more sun again. Smile
