......a view from Ponte Sant'Angelo looking back towards St Peter's Basilica ....in effect a reverse view of this image. If you look closely at the top of the dome you will see the people looking down.
I just picked myself up off the floor after realizing that I was getting a front row seat!! Now that I'm here, I don't know what to say..lol...I always love your travel pictures, and some of the best have come from this locale. Your lighting works very well on this cityscape and the bits of greenery in the front are quite a contrast.
"I never looked for it, gave it no name; yet I knew it always, when the gift of peace came. I stood quite still for the moment that it lasted...Then the light shifted slightly and the moment passed, leaving me...with the lasting echo of its presence.." Diana Gabaldon
You've brought back so many memories for me. Some I even remember. lol. It's a very beautiful city and I was 19 when I was there. Oh, I was single too. I like Rome.
AlthougI think that Rome is one of the most captured cities in the world, I never became boring to watch its images. This is valid in particular for your image Patti, as it's a wonderful one. Regards, Cornelius
*You will have noticed that I haven't been commenting as much on your fine images!..This is because of the pains in my hands!..the constant use of the keyboard, makes this difficult..so, my dear friends..I can only apologise to you all in advance!*

What I'm enjoying most about these pictures, apart from the fact that they're beautiful, is seeing you at pains to find interesting ways to display what you're seeing. You get it right every time, and this is no exception. I love that you included the moss in this, it shows St Peter's in context and from an angle not many would think of. And the moss says to me that even something that seems as permanent as stone in a city like Rome isn't forever. Brilliant.
It's a wonderful perspective and composition. I love the lighting and all that somptuous architecture. Great capture Patti, and thank you for making me travel with you! :)

My dear friends! I hope you forgive me for not commenting and answering that much recently. Thats because of the weather situation here, that takes all my energy. I promise to do better as soon as there will be more sun again. Smile
Angle and perspective just great, but it has a strange feel to it. The left part seems to be offset, the buildings as of center to the right, have good and straight vertical lines. What happend to the left of the image Patti ? strange ?
