...the famous statue of Romulus and Remus, the mythological Roman twin sons of priestess Rhea Silvia and the God of War Mars. The statue is in the Capitoline Museum in Rome. ...this is also very topical at the moment as they have unearthed a cave believed to be the place of the birth of the twins. See the news

Great shot, I was reading in the news that they think they may have found a cave relating to these two. I love museums, history and mythology are so interesting. A very nice capture Fogz.

Great shot :)
I love mythology and of course I know this one hehe

Indeed they have found an ornately decorated chamber/cave that they believe relates to them.
I was actually watching a program about the myths the other day.

This was always one of my favourite stories as a kid, I didn't know there was a statue. How very descriptive it is - I'm loving your history lessons to Patti. This one makes me wonder if there's a gap in the market - wolf milk capuccino.

Sorry, I got so wrapped up reading about the twins (I love Greek and Roman histories and mythologies)that I almost forgot to tell you how much I have enjoyed your post. Nigel's thought on goat milk is a little scary. But I am sure, Starbucks with have it soon! A wonderful picture and a lot of very interesting history to read.

Thats so funny. I just read about that sculpture - that it is a fake - well, a fake from the middle age, so for us still something special - and here you present it. And it looks good. The best fake you can imagine.
