....the tiny village of Birchover in Derbyshire, which is where I left my car on Sunday before walking over Stanton Moor. It was late afternoon and the light was fading and the village had a very restful feel to it. I even managed to purchase a jar of grapefruit and pineapple marmalade from a lady selling homemade produce at her gate.

Although the light was fading, you've succeeded in capturing a wonderful and moody image Patti. Love this 'typical English' scene. Well done!

If you didn't run this through a painting effect of some sort, it certainly looks as if you did, and the results are terrific, Patti. :)PJ

Looks like a great place to walk and get lost. In your thoughts, that is. I agree with Owd Timer about the sneak preview of the countryside in background. Love the tone and would have enjoyed going for that walk myself. She might have sold two jars of the marmalade. Colors and composition are perfect. Looks like you got all out of the sky that it had to offer. Very nice Patti.

Looks so cosy, you can imagine the inhabitants settling down for the night in front of an open fire. Makes me worry about global warming though, who'd have thought they grew pineapples and grapefruit in Derbyshire. I like the way the sun's just disappearing behind the hill in the background, really gives this a sense of moment.
