.....low sun and burnt and dried out grasses and bushes create a golden hue over the landscape - Winter is not always dull! ...another photograph of the reservoir in Derbyshire taken at the weekend. :)
Sunlight on the grasses really makes this photo pop as they say. Love the view across the way. I like whatever has been done to the trees. The frame is subtle and doesn't overpower the photo. I like it Patti.
Wow that's great Patti, alot better than white. :) Whites ok but not 3 months of it. LOL Really like the colours, I hope there was a breeze too.......blowing back and forth would be nice. :)
Always remember - Follow the Yellow Brick Road, it will lead you to the Emerald City and OZ A very nice place to be. Trust me on this one, I live there. The Lion **** MY CAEDES GALLERY****Another Site I'm AT - MY DA HOME PAGE
I'll grab the line...you grab my pole and we'll head off down to the fish'un hole!!
Did I just type that outloud?? Sorry, I'm soooo BAD!!
I just teasin' baby, just teasin'!!
A sweet scene and probably some good fishing perhaps!?!? I'm totally diggin' the backdrop blur...you can see it, yet I like the feel of the presentation!!
A beautiful landscape, even with that guy hanging around on the left. I think I would have shouted at him to get the heck out of my frame! That usually works with sane people. They are frightened by loud crazy people.
Winter? That's spring. I'll show ya winter...I saw a picture today of one of the mountain passes. There was a semi truck in it and the snow that was cleared from the road was higher than the semi by a goodly margin. Now that's winter!

I agree Patti, I think in some ways I prefer the sunlight in winter, it can be so rich and golden. Like in this shot. Another one for my faves and desktop!
Another stunning shot Patti. I think I would have cloned out the person on the far shore and maybe cropped another one-tenth off the lower edge of the shot, but these are minor points. It's still an excellent landscape.
I much appreciate all the comments I receive about my images, but please excuse me if I don't always reply. My interest in Caedes is exceeding my time available!
It's hard to believe this is a winter shot. In North Dakota where I live it's all white and frozen, but this was obviously a perfect day to capture a photo like this: the light is low in the sky to create highlights, there is a thin film of clouds to diffuse light downward and fill many of the shadows, and there's very little wind to move the grasses in the foreground or create waves to disturb that great reflection in the water on the opposite shore. The angle you've shot this one at is perfect for allowing the diminishing slivers of land and trees to reflect. Very nice. Our Dutch friend Hans has submitted one that does the same thing, taken from a boat on a Swiss lake. I've created for myself a screen saver that has water in every shot. A copy of this one is headed there now. Thanks for submitting it. I also count 23 comments on this photo (not counting mine) and it hasn't even been on submission long enough for a c-index rating. You must be stirring their blood with this one. I hope the rating will be as high as it deserves, into the 80s or 90s.
Very Nice picture Patti. Looks like you get the same types of weather during winter as here in New England. Is that man fishing or is that a golf course?
