....a quieter part of the madina in Essaouira - many narrow alley ways are filled with handmade goods - here you can see some of the magnificent rugs and materials that are sold. I would have loved to have captured this old man as he walked towards me but did not want to impose, so I quickly took a shot after he walked past - he was a wonderful character. He definitely makes this shot.

Another good one Patti. Don't you just kick yourself when you don't snap the shot when you want to. I know it is best not to impose but.............. Great photo nonetheless. At least you left mystery as to how he looks. That is a good thing. I like the lone figure meandering down the narrow street. Colors are really great. Excellent post.

Lovely presentation - it really suits the narrow street and the colour chosen compliments those wonderful carpets. I think perhaps the old man facing that way is better than had he been coming towards you - gives one the feeling of wanting to follow along the street.

Sums up the essence of North Africa to me, a network of narrow streets with hidden shops trodden by wise old faces. Love the light too, even though this must have been fairly well shaded you still get a sense of the heat.

Just what Nigel said! lol Great shot and the perfect fellow to capture. I too held my camera low so as not to offend, but I think if you ask, folks don't seem to mind having their photos taken.
