...... 18th century hunting lodge in the grounds of Lyme Park in Cheshire. The Cage is open to the public just 15 days of the year and by luck it was open while I was out walking in the grounds last Sunday. The owners of the mansion called it the cage as they often used it to lock up the poachers that were caught hunting in the grounds. Lyme Park is home to the Elizabethan Lyme Hall and to a large herd of deer.

That's one extravagant gaol Patti. Great shot as it shows its isolation very well. I love these wonderful buildings found all over the place that were there as lock-ups of some description. there's a famous one in a suburb of Liverpool called The Wavertree Lock-Up.

I remember this place from some of your previous photos. Imagine being locked up in there for poaching! The sky works really well in this, sets the building off perfectly, and the subtle vignette is nice too.
