......Around the little headland that marks the western-most point of Le Hocq bay in Jersey is Green Island. This small bay derives its name from the grass-covered rock that sits a little way out, surrounded by water at high tide. All around the island are reminders of past inhabitants dating back to prehistoric times, and Green Island is no exception. This is an important archaeological site as 18 box-like graves (some still with human remains) were discovered on top of this mound dating back to neolithic times.

Heyyyy ... "curves" ... cool.

:oP

Just teasing Patti.

Wonderful natural colour. And of course, some great leading visual lines.

Well-balanced composition, and I particularly enjoy the varying textures. A strong element for me.

Well done.

And but of course, thank you for sharing this one with us. :o)

Great shot and thanks for stimulating the grey matter!

I'm so glad you shared this Patti. I've never seen a beach that looked like this. There's so much to behold at one time but it makes for a very pleasing post. Very interesting narrative also that I enjoyed reading. Beautiful composition.

Very nice photo Patti. I like the whole scene. Much to look at. Divers preparing to take a underwater look, tracks from ?? vehicles, an old brick roadway and that island. Great composition. I didn't forget the sky and water. They are just frosting on the cake.

I like the narrative - I wonder if the bodies were buried there when it was part of the 'mainland' or if they were deliberately buried on an island. I like the divers in this too - what an idyllic day for a scuba dive! Lovely shot Fogz, you really did stumble across view after view after view.
