....and if ever there was a view that made me stand still in my steps this was it - I totally unexpected to see this, having parked my car a short distance away. Needless to say I stopped and sat on the hillside taking in this sight for quite some time. ps The tower is the remains of one of the fortifications built by the Germans who occupied the island in WW2. There are still many guns and bunkers around the coast on the high ground, many of which I looked at as I was touring the island.

What a beautiful spot. I find myself drawn to that little tower on the island. I've always had a thing for escaping to islands. Nice work: Ricky.

It's easy to see you are not afraid of heights. Many of your pictures look like they were taken while hang gliding or something. This is a classic. Great scenery, and I love the color of that water. Very nice, Patti.

Great photo and I googled Jersey because I was unaware of its location and history. I apologize for being stupid. I'm not stupid when it comes to recognizing beauty and this is one beautiful photo. Great work Patti.

No wonder this stopped you in your tracks Patti. What a view! I'd forgotten about the Germans occupying the island. I remember visiting the underground hospital they built when I was there as a child. Lovely shot here, with that curving bay and the island and little tower. I can't believe what good weather you had either!

Oh yes, that is a nice sight indeed ! Yes you do see those ww2 concrete fortifications in a lot of places in Europe. At the time it was to expensive to blow them all up, and now they belong to the sight of the countryside.
