...one of the most famous landmarks in Jersey UK. It was designed by Sir John Coode and built in 1874 and was Britain’s first reinforced concrete lighthouse. During the German Occupation in WW2, the light was switched out, only turned on when German’s wanted to guide their own ships around the treacherous rocks. The lighthouse was relit for good on 19 May 1945.

Beautiful image and what aninteresting history. Ive always heard about this lighthouse....but you have brought it to me in a different light. Just a fanstastic scene...is that a walkway leading to the lighthouse underwater? Now that is somethning else.

This looks so rugged and serene at the same time Patti. Anchored very nicely with the rocks in the foreground and, as large as they are they in no way take away the focus from the main subject here. Very nicely done!

Those really look like rocks that need a lighthouse. I really like the perspective on this Patti.

You managed to pick up so much of the recent history of the island in your three day trip, as well as getting great shots. I don't know how you do it! Only you can compose a landscape like this Fogz, classically done and a great capture of the lighthouse.

A beautiful shot Patti, a splendid composition (as ever) and with some very interesting rock formations as well. My only bugbear is WHY did they have to build such a blockhouse of an affair down to the left from the lighthouse??? I would have been tempted to edit it out... :)
