It does look rugged Patti. I would like to see more of the opening in the rocks on the upper left. It looks like a nice shot all by itself. Your rugged terrain for the foreground and your scenic countryside it the back makes for a great composition. The grasses make for wonderful garnish.
This Image GRABBED my EYE. That's Why I Stopped By.

Very nice scenery, I like how you did not include to much sky, makes one focus on the rocks more. I started using the AP mode also, instead of the P mode.
Thought at first sight you went to the moon to capture this rugged landscape Patti. Would have given a solution as well for the question whether there is water or not, lol.
Excellent post!
Regards, Cornelius.
I would love to be there to take pictures of that area, but I wouldn't like to try maneuvering around there. You would probably have to come a scrape me off the valley floor. LOL. Beautiful colors and scene, Patti. Very nice shot.
Just a beautiful landscape Patti. I lvoe the rough look and it appears to be a bit cold maybe? I just starting using AP only...advice form the owner of the Nikon I am getting ready to buy. One day this redneck is going to suprise you guys and fly over there for a photo outing....you may never know.
Another one for exercising the thighs this, and looks like you had a nice day for it too! That rugged Derbyshire countryside again - and lots of great detail here. There's often a really appealing 'smoothness' to your shots that comes from the uniform focus, with nothing blurred or out of place. Everything's sharp, but never spiky, with lots of curves and rounded edges. I really like the lines of those rocks against the sky in this, and the way the water in the puddle snakes out to meet them.
Wonderful capture Patti, it sure is rugged looking and would love to take a long walk there.
I'm back and the skating competition is over, HURRAY and boy am I tired. May not comment on all the postings due to being so many to look at, until I can catch up later today, hopefully. But I'm viewing them all. Thanks for your patience.
