....this little collie dog wandered into my shot on my walk over Werneth Low yesterday. In the distance you can see Manchester City Centre. On the hill to the left you can see a cenitaph, which commemorates the lives lost in the Great War 1914-1919. ....and if you look closely you will see a plane at the top left ....leaving for hmmmm ...time I caught another plane somewhere! ;)

I think I see the pilot waving at you, Patti. LOL. This is outstanding with or without the collie, but I'm glad he wandered into the frame. What a fantastic sky, and countryside shot.

This shot really has some good things going for it. The dog and the path make a great foreground subject while the hills and valley make a great back ground. The large house down the hill makes a good anchor for that side of the frame and makes a nice triangle with the dog and the cenitaph that keeps the eye in the frame. The tree behind the dog and the cenitaph both pint together to those incredible clouds and perhaps to something more. The plane I see as a bonus for those who look long enough to see it, it points to what is beyond, and for you that spells adventure!
I thoroughly enjoy this picture Patti. Saved and Faved!

I've been meaning to comment on this one for some time but lost track of who took it and where it was located. I'm a die-hard border collie lover, so that pulls me to this one immediately, but looking further I realize the composition here is very well done. The signs of modern humanity are distant and small enough to only be a backdrop, leaving the hills, path, and dog as the main elements. The dog's position on the far left gives me the feeling that he's just arrived and it's only a lucky chance that we get to see him here. The angle of the path gives our eye a visual path to follow, right up to that handsome collie, and in return a direction for the dog to be moving in,along the path to us. The angles are strong, the composition is very good, and the lighting, clear focus, good DOF and near-perfect white balance make this one exceptional in my book. Very well done, Patti, Faved and saved. Thank you.
