....not what you thought! ;) ....I had to capture this cute little Robin that sat for a while and allowed me to get quite close! As you can see the English Robin is a lot different than the American Robin - about the size of a tennis ball - and all fluffed up the same shape - guarding against the cold weather! Photograph taken last Friday (not cropped) - since then we have had lots of snow and temperatures have plummeted to an all time low -17.6 recorded at the local weather station last night! .....I'm heading for warmer climes! :D

With temperatures that low, your Robin should have a hood on! So happy to see you back and hope to see more of your pictures, too. Excellent detail in this one and I also like the blurred background.

I think I see the "Spaulding" logo on it's chest. Did it used to be a yellow-green color, too? Maybe it escaped from Wimbledon. Excellent birdie picture, Patti.

Reminds me of the little fat birds from the short clip that Pixel did. He's such a cute little puff ball of feather. Fantastic close up!

....not what you thought...

You're right Patti. Hoped to see Owd Bob in knickerbockers, lol But now my disappointment (?) has gone, have to say that this image is far more beautiful than any image of the Owd Mucker.
Perfect post!

Your headed for warmer climates? No use coming over here. Southern Louisiana is experiencing an Artic Freeze right now.
Love this Robin and so good to see something from you.
Not what I expected? The bird is much more well behaved than our traditional Bob!! (Legs it...)

Wonderful shot, nice and sharp with great bokeh, I was just about to post a Robin shot myself when I noticed this on in the VB, I gave it a great score that it deserves.

You are so right. It's not what not I thought (but there again I've a dirty mind!) But it is a lovely picture of this puffed up little bird. The detail is wonderful and the out of focus background is perfect.
