On my recent holiday to Rhodes I went on a boat trip to the island of Symi - just a two hour sail. The island is in fact very close to Turkey - no editing to this image - it is exactly how it is - beautiful and blue! :) ...however, the image does seem to have lost some sharpness in the upload - I have to try to remember the adjustments you need to make to prevent the loss of colour and quality when uploading to the site - any tips welcome :)

Your other photo looks very good too,the colors and lighting are very pleasant as well as the sky,it is very lovely with the boats,very good composition too.

Patti - If this is with a loss of color and sharpness - the site must be even more beautiful than shown in your photo. You composed this photo so well, and there is much color to take in from the boats to the buildings of the town. Wonderful scene! Thad

Patti, you're right. I've compared this image with your 'Derbyshire' images of some years ago, which are still on my computer, and they have a somewhat better sharpness indeed. My images are always taken in the RAW-format and uploaded in the PNG format. Think because the image is converted by the Caedes site again, but now into the JPEG format, the loss of quality is inevitable. There are tricks to compensate this to a certain extent. It's a pity that you've forgotten them, as I'm very curious to hear them as well. The above comments, however, didn't make me more hopeful.

Some neighbours of ours holidayed in Symi a few years ago. So I've seen hundreds of shots of the island. However, none of theirs were a tenth as beautiful as yours.
