My husband and I had traveled to NC and stopped at this restaurant that had the prettiest landscape. I have no idea what kind of flower this is but I made the comment to my husband that some of the flowers looked like ball gowns to me . I thought they were so pretty. Does anyone with a green thumb have any idea what this is?

You did a great job of capturing the delicate petals of these flowers. (I have no idea what they are called). It is interesting how one of them seems to be concave and the other convex. There are very interesting , yellow centers to these blooms. Maybe someone else will know what they are. I like the dark green background. It really accentuates the white blossoms. Thanks :)

Thank you so much. The petals look almost like tissue paper to me. My mom made the comment that they reminded her of the corncob dolls they used to make when she was small. Thanks again ! :)

This flower is actually a Broadleaf Arrowhead, the one you have taken here is the male (staminate) flower... The lower flowers on a stem will be pistillate, the upper flowers staminate...This picture is really great..nice clean shot...these flowers are really pretty and does remind me of a ball gown...thanks for sharing this with us :) Great find.
