As many of you know my dear Jack was diagnosed with cancer about 2 years ago. He lost his battle in May. As many pet owners can attest there is always that one special pet that touches your heart in ways you can't explain. My beloved Jack was one of those. This is my favorite photo of him that I wanted to share with you. I still miss him so much. He was my buddy.

He has a face that you can't forget. Beautiful dog, Eileen. We become so attached that it is hard to let go, but we were blessed to have them at all. You have this wonderful portrait and your love of him must still comfort you. Man's and woman's 'best friend'. Their loyalty is without question which is probably why we love them so much.

You will be led to the knowledge of the internal things which are invisible to you, by the external things which you see before you. . . . Even so then, we can represent to ourselves in thought the Author of all that is, by contemplating and admiring the (visible) things which He has made, and ever brings into being. - Hermes

He is a fine dog and was an even better friend I'll bet, I'm sooo sorry Eileen for your loss. I get really attached to all my beagles and it breaks my heart to loose one. This is a great photo of him and I know he will always be in your heart. As well he should be. He gone on to a better place and you should be thankful for that. I have a quote for you from one of my favorite authors. "If there are no dogs in heaven then when I die I want to go where they went"..........Will Rodgers. You take care my dear, he will always be there...just around the next corner. <Hug> John

What a dog. And, what a dog portrait. That is beautiful. I know exactly how you feel about your dog. I am one to believe that since God made pets such a big part of our lives here on earth, it wouldn't surprise me one bit if Jack is chasing rabbits in God's garden this very minute.

My heart goes out to you Eileen... I'm so very sorry to hear of Jack's passing. What a beautiful intelligent face he had. I can well understand how much you are missing him.

When I lost my dog Eddie last year, LynEve gave me directions to the Rainbow Bridge - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rainbow_Bridge_(pets) and I found visiting it very helpful. Perhaps it might help you too, Eileen? I do hope so.

Thinking of you and I hope the pain of loss soon begins to ease.

Thank you for sharing this lovely portrait Eileen.
The loss of a pet is often hard to bear but the joys they bring us are worth the sadness we ultimately feel.
You should be very proud of this photo - it does him proud.

The hell ! Sorry, Eileen, I have been away for so long, too long ...
I am very sorry.
About the same time [May] we have lost another canine friend here - a Rottweiler named Carat - also very brave and ailing for a long time. Now I know I have cried for Jack too.
Am crying again ...

Been out of touch with Caedes for quite awhile. Happened to browse your gallery to see some of what I've missed. Needless to say as a dog lover this posting grabbed my eye ... then I saw the title and had to leave a comment. It's a marvelous photo Eileen of what I'm sure was a wonderful companion. I've put down several dogs of my own over the years, my screen name "Muggsy" is in remembrance of the last one ... a German Shepherd. Recently I saw my son put his Black Lab down that was a beloved "family" member. My heart goes out to you ... You did "Jack" proud with this posting.

My kind regards,
