The caretakers of this beautiful mill were very apologetic. They asked that I wait for a week before creating an image. They said that by then the mill would have a new coat of red paint. WRONG! A new coat of paint would have removed all of the character from the image.

New bright red garrish paint! If they had painted it before you got there you would have spent a lot of time in photoshop to get it to look just like this. it was a lovely day to catch the light on the face of the building and in the rushing stream

As you step up to the pearly gates, and St. Peter taps you on the shoulder and asks you to step out of line, and then proceeds to inform you that you will be denied access to Heaven for going against an elderly couple and their simple request ... Ask to see his computer screen, and there you will find ... this image ... with an AOL icon below an overstuffed recycle bin.

Is there a photo that you could post .. aw common .. just for us new guys, that represents SOMETHING less than a PERFECT picture? You must have one... I know it ...I just know I haven't seen one yet! Stunning Bob. With just a moment in this picture you can hear the stream rushing by. Shhh.

Rob Thank you for your very kind words. Do I have an image that is less than perfect? Boxes and boxes full. As I have mentioned in the past, the differenc between an amatuer and a professional photographer is a Professional NEVER shows his bad work. !:0) Thanks for asking

Character and photographer have much in common. But as a maintenance man, Bob, I understand the poor chaps. You want people to say, "Who IS that maintenance man!" Not, "They sure need one!" May I suggest you sneak back, take a shot in red, and present it to them? And please don't tell them I gave you a TEN!!!

Beautifully shot! Love the colours...and I have to agree with you, even though a new coat of paint may have brightened the image it would have erased some of the character. Good judgment.

Your right about the red paint. Wise choice to get a snap of it before they "runin it". I feel like I am standing right there and can hear the grist mill turning and grinding and happy voices working inside. Great capture. Might be interesting to go ahead and get a sanp of it AFTER they paint it. I like to compare.
