Remember when there were local Pharmacies? You would wait while the man behind the counter mixed and filled all of the prescriptions and didn't count out pills. Most all Pharmacies had an Apothecary Bottle in the window. The smell of Witch Hazel and other medicinal odors was neat. This is where you could.... But this is your Remember When? not mine so I stop here and you carry on.

Oh yes, I do remember those things. The pharmacy here was very small and crowded but the smell of the medicines was very strong.

Good morning Robert, I think this ages you just a tad, lol. I do not remember that at all. But my family was a strange brew and I don't recall even being into a shopping center until I was 12 years old. Oh I was such a deprived child, no wonder I adore shopping so very much, lol.

Good morning, too. Nice photo, Robert. I remember some corner drug stores that had apothecaries. There are some still around that keep items like these on display.

1. What an interesting picture Bob. I must say that I've never seen the bottles you illustrate but would share the need to photograph them!

2. My recollection of a pharmacy was an alternative candy store (ok... I ate a LOT of candy when I was a kid) *shows fillings*. The only problem with buying candy at the pharmacy was the old lady (I resisted saying bat) at the counter would always give us grief for spending our money on candy. I guess it was the near-health care side of the staff appealing to the misguided youth to take more care. Sheesh. *shows fillings again*

Hahaha...ah yes...I have many fillings of my own. But I won't show them. The only pharmacy I'm familiar with is CVS so thanks for showing me an alternative. Very nice composition :)

Wow. Some of you are going so far back that I'm feeling quite young as of late. ;) Thank you! hehe
Bob, I'm going to comment on the photo itself. I think it's a wonderful composition. I like how your framing brought out the soft peach color. I do however want to put that stopper on straight! ;) Would love to have this in my glass collection.

The storefronts, mortar and pestle and old curved window really keep this all in time. I've got one that says vitamins on it, just vitamins, not; specifically engineered for one of 60 different conditions. Ahh, simple choices.

That's a fantastic arrangement, Bob. I love the color against the otherwise monochrome background. You have a good eye for colors.

Wow memories. I remember these bottles as well, my local pharmacie was off the old world,, wooden panelling, loads of jars of different coloured liquids. The chemist himself was better than a doctor sometimes, and he would know exactly what to give what ailment. He also used to stock the lollypops that were whistles as well, and would give all the children one free. ( Normally coz Mums wouldnt buy them because of the noise the made :) )

He retired sadly and now his shop is one of those ultra modern places that takes half an hour to fill your script and no soul.

Thank you so much for bringing back memories I had forgotten.
