This is the fourth in my series of Aspen images. It is a rare moment when the wind is not blowing above 10,000 feet. . The combination of being at this spot at that time is a message from on high that indicates this image should be captured. While I was busy using my Hasselblad with a very wide angle lens, Annie my wife and a very accomplished photographer of her own, used her digital camera. Later in the year she was awarded first place in a international photography competition and then soon after her work was published in a "Coffee Table Book". Am I bragging about her work? YOU BET!!

The air is so clear a that elevation, it makes the water look like a just polished mirror. The framing is perfect, it enhances the deep blue of the sky. Another 10 from me

No Sir bb. It is just out of the camera and I cleaned up a few dust spots. No plastic trees for me! !:0)

Annie and I invite you to visit our website. Photography is not a trade - it is an art. It is more that an art. It is a solar phenomenon, where the artist collaborates with the sun. deLamartine 1855

But words are things, and a small drop of ink, falling, like dew, upon a thought produces that which makes thousands, perhaps millions think and smile. Art is everywhere, except it has to pass through a creative mind.

Good morning Robert
You explained in an earlier image in the Aspens series about the effect of elevation on sky colour, and all the colours are beautiful and crisp in this photo. We are more used, at these lower elevations, to less intense colour. And that is part of the utter beauty of this scene, the way that you have so beautifully captured all of these rich tones and beautiful colours. If our eyes could just sometimes see the way a camera lens sees, we would become amazed at the beauty that surrounds us. To my favourites and 10/10 from myself.

The colours and contrast are so intense they seem almost to good to be true, perhaps it’s a feature of the altitude. There’s no doubt that this is one very appealing image though. I really like the way the cloud pattern follows the tree line.

There are three colours, Ten digits and seven notes, its what we do with them that’s important. Ruth Ross

A magnificent capture and times two with the reflection...as if the scenery weren't breath-taking enough, you've done a fantastic job on the framing as well...it really complements and accentuates everything...10++ and in my favs.:Pat.

I'm two years late with a comment but have to leave one. Just about the best composition I've ever seen in this, it's no surprise that Annie won that competition. If you'd assembled the landscape out of a toy kit you couldn't have put it together better.
