This is number eleven in my Aspen series. One more and I will end it at 12. Thank you for taking the time to visit each one of them. Maroon Bells is probably the most photographed area in Colorado. Located about twenty miles from Aspen, Colorado it has become a tourist Mecca. Once as peaceful as my Cottonwood lake image, that is no longer true. The traffic has gotten so heavy that cars are no longer allowed into the park. Busses now travel into this beautiful area. This has been done to help protect the delicate environment of this subalpine area. As busses come and go during the day the tourists grow in number as well as the noise. Some of us old timers remember when it was pristine and one could walk as far as you desired in a quiet that was deafening. The uneven sky was caused by my EX-photofinisher using some under replenished chemicals.

Beautiful once again!
The colours just amaze me, you know I love spring, but I have to say that the autumn is my favorite time of year! If only it could stay!

The fading sky actually doesn't look that bad...adds some effect to the image, imo.

This is a classic Maroon Bells shot if I've ever seen one. The Aspens get such stunning color in the right light. More diversity in the Fall colors back here, but hard to match something like this for purity and saturation. I haven't had time to get through the aspen series and probably won't get back here until June, but couldn't pass this one up.
