I was tired, dirty, hungry and upset with myself as I left the town of Durango, Colorado. I knew better than to wait so long to find a campsite. The lighting was magnificent so I captured images as long as I felt there was some hope of producing a good image. Now, as I turned north and headed towards Red Mountain pass I knew that I had to find a place to camp. It was dark when I spotted a dirt road off to my right. Any port in a storm, I thought. As I turned down the dirt road I found a large lake. I pulled in and found a place to set up camp. I was so tired that I didn't eat, just went to bed. When I crawled out of my tent in the morning, this is what I discovered. What a beautiful place!

Very good but what was the name of the lake? And did you take a walk in the meadow? This is nice and clear/crisp.

Beautiful composition and the angle of the morning light is perfect for accentuating the lines. Very complex image that is fun to explore with the eye! :-)

It’s a right visual feast you have created here. It must have been a delight to wake up to.

There are three colours, Ten digits and seven notes, its what we do with them that’s important. Ruth Ross

Well, that is indeed beautiful Love the play of light and shadow. The cross-rail fence adds a nice variety to the lines of the composition and also in texture and color. Well done.

I'd love to roam around capturing beautiful shots such as this. Some day I will. For now I am content to look at what you have seen.

Very professional looking photo, the light and shadows as well the angles of the trees is so well captured here. Anyone else would have just walked by this place, but you have a good eye for natural beauty.

A stellar shot ... and to be expected considering the photographer. But more, a feeling in the shot amplified with your writing. It's nearly as good as sharing the space with you Bob... two heads, two cameras... one beautiful scene.

I've done some traveling by motorcycle and have been denied entrance to the places I was aiming for because I was on a motorcycle .. too noisy, they said .. you can't even hear mine when next to it .. so I have grown accustomed to looking to the sides as I travel and I notice the nooks and crannies .. and have used them on several occasions

This is a bang-up shot .. I trust there are more
