I took this picture in the Adirondacks. It's a very dark photo, but it's the exact light amount and quality as it was when I took the picture. To me, it seems kind of eerie and serene at the same time.
This is a good photo. I agree, it is eerie and serene, however, I think it is a bit dark. It is almos slightly depressing. However, I am sure if you lightened it up a bit, or maybe took the picture when it is lighter, it would make a fantastic work or art!
I agree with the above. A very nice pic, with good compostion, but I may have played with the contrast/brightness just a bit to bring out the water a bit more.
"'Life is not a journey to the grave with the
intention of arriving safely in a pretty
and well preserved body,
but rather to skid in broadside,
thoroughly used up,
totally worn out,
and loudly proclaiming,
"WOW! What a ride!"'
I love that the overhanging branch. Composition is great, and the clarity might be enhanced by the image being lighten a touch, but I understanding your commitment to realism. Thanks for sharing.
G'day, I love darker dusky shots but as the comments prior to me indicate, most people prefer their images lighter. Can't see the point of that myself, if I wanted a lighter image I'd take the photo earlier. lol. I love the slate/blue palette and your balance of earth to sky is perfect. I presume this was handheld - there does seem to be an overall blur on the image that sharpening would not fix but there are various filters in PS or Gimp that can work with the blur, painter filters, that kind of thing, that will keep the overall good qualities of the image and turn the blur into a positive too. Which is exactly what I'm going to do with your photo. :) Nice one.
