This is another car influanced picture I am afraid but thought it was in interesting one because of its historical interest. Scotland was to the right. The wall was also a lot higher than this but has been robbed for various uses. Here is a little history: When the Roman Emperor Hadrian visited Britain in 122 A.D he recognised the difficulties in establishing control in Caledonia and saw that it would be impossible to introduce the Picts to the Roman way of life. The Emperor therefore ordered the construction of a great defensive wall which would mark the northern limits of his empire and consolidate the hold on those parts of Britain already subdued. Hadrian's empire would not include Caledonia!

Such a shame that so much of the wall has been stolen! but your photograph is great - love the perspective - the road leads your eye right into the picture and it looks like a good road to zooooom down - bit like a roller coaster! nice car too! Patti

Lovely shot.. great colour and composition... looks like its a perfect day... It is a shame that people take the stones from the wall, that has been going on for years unfortunately.. very nice work..

I love the road and how it goes off to the "unknown". I love the fact that it is a lovely day and can be seen. I'll admit that I don't care for the cooper in the picture as it takes my attention away from the wall and other aspects of nature in the picture, yet I like how the red of it catches my attention

Picturesque! Clear and colorful. I too like how the road with the "wall" leads the eyes off to the distance wondering what is beyond. I appreciate the history information also.
