Apophysis 2.05, Photofiltre, Gimp 2.2. - I don't know if you've ever looked closely at a group of urchins in a tidal pool, but this fractal certainly reminded me of some I saw on the Juan de Fuca trail. My personal complaint is that it doesn't have much depth...

Very pretty colours and strangely well-defined for what initially appears to be a rather random collection of lines. It definitely merits closer inspection. My only real criticism would be the one you've already made - it's a shame it doesn't have greater depth. Since I have no idea whatsoever how you might achieve this, though, I'm afraid this remark isn't of much help.

I'm not sure about urchins, but it reminds me of the game of pick-up sticks. The colouring is a lot more delicate and far prettier than the original, though, and there's a lot more variety in your design.

Yup, and urchin is what it reminds me of. It's interesting to watch, and if you could add some depth somehow it would be even more fun. I'd also like to see it in a somewhat lightened version.
