Male House Finches in Southern California have many color phases. Yellow on one end of the scale and red on the other. Here is one of the yellow males. I am experimenting with black borders. I think that they bring out color. What do you think?

The border really compliments your shots. I have never had much luck with them though. This is definatly a colorful little guy. Great capture.

A fine shot of this finch Garrett. I like the way he's posed and the colour and clarity in this beautiful image. I agree that the border compliments this lovely image. Nice work.

Good morning Garrett
What I really like here (apart from the very good composition) is the way that the background, though of the same basic colour as the finch, is of such a shade that it gives the appearance of being a different colour. The two tones thus form a nice balance between each other, highlighting the texture and the character of the bird (it seems almost quizzical).

Music is more than the notes we hear; it is the spaces between the notes that make it complete.
Excellent in details and composition, Garrett! I also like the certain sameness in colours between the bird and the background. You seem to select the perfect frame every time, but I think the colour depends on the image. Fine job once again! :)
