I was out this morning shooting at my favorite spot. I found a Black Crowned Night Heron sitting on the same branch that I captured the Green Heron last week. Suddenly the bird took off and was replaced by a second Black Crown Night Heron. Something about the branch......

Wonderful! Love the details and action. I noticed the Green Herons doing the same when visiting the nesting area, swoop in on the same branches... : ) Saved.

I like how the eye is beautifully lit and in focus, with the speedy blur of the wings and feet giving that sense of momentum into flight. A worthy shot.
