The central Calif coast is a haven for marine mammals. Another common resident of the coast is the Harbor Seal. I caught this one in a group of about 7 that had hauled out on the rocks. Their layers of fat insulate them from the emtremely cold water of the pacific.

Another great capture Garrett. When I watch them out of the water, it amazes me how they can move around. There is an old joke about seals I always heard when I was on the west coast: Why are the seals on the rocks?
