About a month ago I shared the image of an immature Red Tail Hawk with you. Here is an adult and from the color of its eyes, it has been around awhile. The eyes of a Red Tail Hawk get darker as the bird gets older. In addition, its sere (featherless skin above the beak) gets a deeper yellow with each year that it gets older. I am sorry, but I am challenged and do not know how to make a link to the image of the immature bird so you could make the comparison. Anyway enjoy this fine old bird. It is sitting in the same tree that the immature bird was sitting in.

I remember the immature Red Tail Hawk, Garrett. Here is a link. I can really see the difference. Older and wiser is a good look, but of course I have to think that. Another great capture.

Magnificent capture of this majestic hawk, Garrett! He looks very noble in his natural surroundings and against that beautiful blue sky! Excellent details as always! Thanks for the information and comparisons to the younger Red Tail Hawks. I do remember your previous post.
