This past Sunday was a great day for me. Along with my flight shots, I caught this Snowy Egret hunting in the still eddy of the stream at my favorite spot. I am not sure, but this might be the same subject in my image titled, Active Wader. The vast majority of the Snowys hang out at the lake, but this one seems to like the stream. I am thinking that it is the same bird because it does not spook when I am near. In fact this bird landed on the railing of a foot bridge no more than 10 feet from me about a month ago. It pretty much stayed and stared me down. I always give the birds the right of way and they seem to know it. I think that is why I can get so close, so often. Either that or I am Dr. Doolittle. I will leave that for you decide.

I think you are Dr. Dooalot with your great posts Garrett. I love the mirror look to this. Maybe they think you are a statue. Be sure to always wear a hat. A really great post.

It looks like a cool spot. The reflections and the details of the bird are so good.

Garrett, the images of the egret and its reflection are beautiful. What do You suppose it thinks when it sees its own reflection...not bad looking today? ... bad hair day? ...do these feathers make me look fat?

Love the details and of course great reflections. He pops against the darker shoreline. I may be crazy, but I often think I can tell the differences in the visiting ones verses the ones who seem to claim the territory.
