While Yellowthroats are not bandits in the literal sense of the word, their striking mask does give the appearance. Yellowthroats are sculkers as they pop in and out of the cattails, so maybe the mask is fitting. It has taken me at least three years of attemps to get this image. Yellowthroats seem to seldom leave the cattails and when they do they seem to be always peeking out from behind a leaf or branch and then they are gone. Even better than that sometimes when I am focusing in on another bird, they will pop up next to me clearly out of the focal range of my lens and taunt me. These little buggers are just mean. At any rate, this guy screwed up and I got him! I hope you enjoy...... Oh, its perched on a dead annis/phennel bush.
