Well we made it back from our family vacation to Idaho, Montana and Alberta. Two months was a long time to go without shooting an image, but life is what it is. One place that we stopped at along the way, was the National Bison Range in Idaho. As far as wildlife viewing goes, it was probably the best five dollars that I have ever spent. We saw, ofcourse, Bison, Pronghorn Antelope, Mule Deer, Black Bear, and Big Horn Sheep. All in the span of about 2 hours. As we ended our self guided tour of the park I caught this Mule Deer Buck checking us out.

He is almost hidden amongst the cockle burr looking plants Garrett. He is resplendent with his horns in full velvet. I can't help but wonder why you didn't take any photos for two months. Wonderful post.

Superbly captured, Garrett! I absolutely love the composition with the Mule Deer surrounded by the thistles, and his rich coat and velvet covered antlers! Wow! I too, have to wonder why you didn't take any photos for two months. Saved + faved.

At first glance it seemed a little dark, but the d'loaded version is very nice! A wonderfully alert pose, he has used his surroundings well. I'm enjoying the diverse vegetation there.I think a lot of people may have overlooked him there. Thank you for sharing it, I look forward to seeing more.
