Early Sunday morning it poured rain. I found this young Red Shouldered Hawk drying its feathers in the morning's sun. A point of interest is that the bird is on one leg. This is a relaxed or resting position for all birds. It told me that it was not bothered by my presense and that it had no intention of flying off. It must have been a tough night for the bird from the looks of its tail feathers.
