I caught these two on Christmas Eve and just I am just getting around to working on the image. It is funny how sometimes animals are oblivious to eachother. I thought it was funny. What do you think?......
I think the turtle is thinking to her or his self;
"Go for the fish. Done in a lightly seasoned pond reduction sauce. It's excellent, I've heard!"
(*under his or her breath*)
'I hope Painted turtle is not on the prix fixe menu. Those herons are tight with their purse strings..'
Or..
"Would you be so kind to rub some suntan lotion on my back. There's a spot I can't quite reach and I..just..hate ... to get an uneven tan.." _________________________________________________________________________
Funny and intriguing shot, Garrett.
Not to mention, wonderfully composed as well.
Great natural colour and well-exposed, as per your usual.
Caveats?
Think you could mask and sharpen Ms. or Mr. Turtle.. some.
Judging from the resolution size, it would appear that you cropped.
However, given the image quality that is still more than apparent ... believe it would stand up readily to a slight Smart/Unsharp Mask/High Pass sharpening. (One of.)
That said..
And but of course, thank you for sharing this encounter with us. :o)
For the invisible things of Him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, His eternal power and Godhead;... Rom 1:20
Don't you love catching these unexpected scenes? Turtle is lucky - baby turtles are known to be on Heron's menu! Good eye for spotting this and composing a little scene of nature for us!
Wow this is a stunning photo and to see the turtle next to a bird that if it had no shell would be dinner is great.Beautiful close up and stunning detail as well.
My thanks to all who leave comments for my work and to those of you who like one enough to make it a favourite. To touch just one person that way makes each image worthwhile. . . . . . . . . .. . . .
