This year I have been spending alot of time photographing the flight of birds. "Running on Water" is one of those attempts. My image "Intensity" was another. For those who like specifics, I was shooting with a Nikon D3S and a Nikon 600mm f4 auto lens. My ISO setting was 3200, my f-stop was f13 and my shutter speed was 1/400. The shot was taken at about 7:30 am. Not much light.

This would have been a very hard to get capture with so many in the view of the lens, you did a very good job on this one and I can feel the sense of their take off. Tigs♥ =^..^=

Wow, this is a breath taking action shot, showing us such detail and action of the splashing water as they run on water. Maybe one day I could capture something like this in action. Bravo

Terrific action shot of these birds. I'm glad you didn't freeze it with a fast shutter speed; the blurs add to the effect of them taking off and enhances what I've always thought amazing about birds---they have such great equilibrium that the upper part of their body appears as though it's motionless while the bottom is furiously peddling. It's the same effect that happens when a small bird alights on a small branch... the body bobs up and down while the head remains in one position. You've captured that unique ability of theirs very nicely. -Nik
