It is the time of the year when this year's crop of babies either sinks or swim (so to speak). Above a Kestrel has caught and is about to dine on a young Yellow Warbler. Young birds are very naive and allow other creatures to get closer than they should. In this case too close. Personally I did not know a Kestrel would take a bird. I have always seen them hovering over a field dropping down on mice, lizards, large bugs and small snakes. Who knew????

It is harsh, but it's reality. You did super job of capturing this Kestrel with the camera. Nice color, and detail. I did not know that either, this is probably a good prize. Tigs♥ =^..^=

I did not know that either Garrett - but the photo of the kestrel is outstanding. The detail is so clear and their markings are so pretty. Once again, survival of the fittest.

That's the true circle of life and it's not always peaches and cream, harsh reality is part of the hunted and the hunter.
