Nightly the cranes return from the fields to the shallow ponds in the area. There they spend their nights in large groups. We were told they do this because they can here an approaching predator in the water and take flight.The majority fly in at twilight just before dark when there is very little light for photography.

Wow the composition of this capture is perfect and love how you captured these birds with the sunlight on there body's and when you enlarge this post the detail is superb as well.
