This winter migrant usually sticks to the coastline. For some reason a pair strayed 20 miles inland and ended up in my pond.

I love the natural tones of your photos. This is such a sweet-looking water bird.

He does look shy but maybe he is in the Witness Protection Program, Garrett. He probably informed on some fowl characters on the coast.
I hope you didn't blow his cover with this great shot..
