We made our annual trek to Cambria to watch the Elephant Seals pup. Saturday we stopped in Moro Bay and rented kayaks. In the bay I was able to photograph a bunch of birds that are hard to get close to on land. The Surf Scoter was one of them.

That bird has a very interesting looking bill. He's quite handsome dressed in black with that white spot on his head. Excellent camera work from the kayak, Garrett.

I love the effect You've captured on the water in this one Garrett. I don't think I've ever encountered this type bird - he is rather unusual looking, but beautiful as most of our birds are.

People are like cameras--sometimes they lose focus.
Wow another amazing capture and it great for me as I have never seen these lovely wild birds and again outstanding detail and beautiful colours .Plus I find this bird very amusing with the facial look it seems to be going along with so much pride with it head held high.Well done to a great looking capture.I also love the light on the water and the colour too.
