Budva's history goes back to Illyrian times and it was built in it's current fortified form by the Venetians during their period in control of the Montenegran coast (15th to 18th centuries). The Castle is joined to the town walls, most of which can be walked around. The Castle itself is a museum, containing the usual collection of militaria and local historical bits and pieces.
Interesting view of the beautiful town with fascinating history, Georg.
