Budva's history goes back to Illyrian times and it was built in it's current fortified form by the Venetians during their period in control of the Montenegran coast (15th to 18th centuries). The Castle is joined to the town walls, most of which can be walked around. The Castle itself is a museum, containing the usual collection of militaria and local historical bits and pieces.

Interesting to see two churches beside each other. Is one catholic and the other Greek orthodox? Curious.

Yes, thay are, you can find many like these in Albania, Montenegro and Croacia. As far in the north you go, the percentage of the catholics encrase toward orthodox, that are more in the south and south east of balkan.
