Absolutely Beautiful Capture ! ! ! ! ! I have been trying to get a photo of a cardinal but this is one of the best I have seen. VERY WELL DONE ! ! ! ! ! ! ! !
Thanks for sharing, Don
One of the best cardinal captures I have seen. I like it's surroundings too. Even though the surroundinys are in focus, they do notm detract from the main thing.

Both this and your other Cardinal picture are absolutley amazing. I have had to look at them both several times. The clarity is superb. It's a lovely little bird captured to perfection.
Both these photos are outstanding Gerry I have never seen or heard of this bird before living in the UK we dont have them. Well done and nice to see you posting as you have been very quiet of late! Jan :-)
Another excellent shot of this gorgeous bird! I like the first one better because you can see more of the bird, but this one features extra interest with the foliage. Both are outstanding though!
Again you've outdone yourself..this this almost..almost better than the other one, but at this point and at this level of expert photography, I think I'm splitting hairs here. Pretty soon we won't have you anymore as you'll be off shooting for the big boys..lol :)PJ ...............p.s. This bird also has one of the most beautiful songs of the songbirds and I'm always very happy when one sets up residence around my place..can't happen often enough for my taste :)
I'll agree with several comments above. Cardinal 1 is the better of two great images here, solely because there's nothing between the lens and the bird in Cardinal 1. Having said that ... I'd be thrilled to have taken either one of these 2 pictures. Just super captures Gerry.
Outstanding photograph! Content position, color contrast, and crispness of the image make this one a winner and should be higher than a 79. The branch in front of the bird enhances his coloring and illustrates their preference for alighting within the protection of foilage. I'm going to download it for a friend who's nuts about birds.
I clicked to download this picture, and found that I already had it. What a perfect picture of a cardinal. Super clear and the composition is excellent. Love the sunshine and shadows.
